Just over 2 weeks to go until the Via Roma Twilight Crit
Not long to go until the first ever floodlit cycle race in Cirencester which is taking place on Monday 31st August. Races will start at 6pm with a Support race, followed by a Corporate race which will then lead into the Elite race which is scheduled to start at 9pm. It is an exciting event for the Town and it will hopefully be something that will turn into an annual event for Cirencester.
Via Roma Events are the organisers with help from the local community such as Cirencester Town Council and the Cotswold District Council that have teamed up together to put on this fantastic event.
It is something for everyone so come and watch and the best of all its FREE to spectate.
The race programme is TBC with rider names still to be announced but there is one rider who we are excited to announce that will be in the main race is local Pro James Lowsley-Williams.
James is a 23 year old from Tetbury who is fulfilling his dream of being a pro cyclist who is currently riding for the Elite Team ‘NFTO Pro Cycling’. James has a close connection with the local bike shop Ride 24/7 who are also helping with this event and he regularly rides with their cycling club. Some of you may have seen James who was seen riding on the front of the peloton along with Team Sky in last years Tour of Britain. He has set our event as a race that he would like to win so it will make for some interesting racing! James also plans on bringing some of his Team mates along.
