Deacon 4th at Llandow on Sunday
Race Report Sunday 8th March.
Local Llandow world champs seen a field of 22 riders in the E/1/2/3. Third of the field was NFTO pro race so it had the makings of a bit of negative racing which was to be expected. First to break away was James Lewis NFTO, every time one of us tried to bridge the gap we were neutralised by one of the other NFTO riders and also the other riders in the peloton. Zack May jumped across to Lewis then i put in three big digs and in the end managed to get way and Time Trial across the gap to the two nfto riders, with Joe Wiltshire sat on my wheel not giving me a turn. Once i reached the pair we were four away and clear but i was quickly attacked, i managed to get back on and counter myself but was caught. With two laps to go i was attacked again and i was dropped in the final lap. No Ian Standard moment for me but i had a positive strong race finishing fourth, I came to win and left on my shield!
