Joe Barry 2nd Malmesbury Road Race

Today was Bristol Roads Clubs turn to host the penutimate round of the cotswold league cycle race, ‘The Malmesbury Road Race’. The circuit started in the Village of Minety, heading towards Malmesbury, then looping back through Brinkworth. A 20 mile anti-clockwise loop.
Team Ride 24/7 had a strong showing of riders, Including Ben Luckwell, Grant Bayton, Joe Barry, Mark Perry, Mike Ward and Charles Rees.

The race is a 1.9km swim/90km bike and 21km run. (Half IronMan)
There were 506 finishers in the event yesterday and several local
Cirencester competitors also from Ride 24/7 (Corrinne Clark, Wendy Nicholls, Greg Wilson)
Luckily the weather conditions turned out to be ideal on the day despite
the 6.30am cold lake swim start and it taking a few mins on the bike to get
warmed up…There was very little wind and the sun came out at about 9am by
which time we’d completed the 2-lap bike section and were starting the
3-lap run section.

Sunday 17th August, a sunny, bright and windy day for The Tour of The Mining Valleys. Mark Perry and Ben Luckwell were the only two Ride 24/7 riders in the race as it started in Aberystwyth. It then headed out to the circuit eight miles away, to complete four and half laps. from the get go it was a fast start to the race with one rider going clear alone with a fourty five second lead. Ben Luckwell, Gwyndar Jones, and Josh Burns escaped the bunch after five miles, these three were joined by Wayne Crombie just before the first ascent of the prime climbs. It was another hot day to the summer that Radeon coaching hosted the 4th round of the Cotswold league series at Sherston, nr Malmesbury. 60 Riders started the 55 mile race, which was a circuit of 4 laps going through the villages of Grittleton and Acton Turnville.
Riders Representing Ride 24/7 was: Ben Luckwell, Grant Bayton, Joe Barry, Mike Ward, Mark Perry, Nick Watson and Charles Rees.

Well done to Ride 24/7 Triathlete Steve Yates who was 2nd Overall in Olympic Distance Cotswold Triathlon. Timings: Swim 20:54.8, Bike 58:08.5 and Run in 38:12.1
Jo Wilkie has qualified to represent Great Britain

RIDE 24/7 TRIATHLETE Jo Wilkie has qualified to represent Great Britain after a superb performance in only her third Olympic distance race.
Representing Ride 247 Tri Club in Cirencester, Wilkie finished ninth in the 35-39 category for women, earning the right to compete in Edmonton, Canada on September 1.
