Via Roma Summer Sportive this Sunday…
This coming Sunday is the Via Roma Summer Sportive.
Here are the routes:
An intentionally un-timed event to promote a laid back atmosphere you will be guided through the idyllic Cotswold countryside taking in ancient villages and passing Roman ruins along the way. The 80 mile “Summer Challenge” will include some challenging climbing whereas the 40 mile “Summer Stroller” a more leisurely aimed at novices and first-time sportive riders.! ! This year’s event is again supported by Ride 24/7 who will be providing mechanical support throughout the day as well as acting as “broomwagon” and PowerBar will be providing nutritional support at the feed stations, of which there are 2 on the longer route and one on the short. All pre-registered entrants will receive a medal upon completion of the event, plus one lucky rider will be drawn at random whilst out on the road and will be presented with a KASK Helmet when they return!!
The HQ for this year remains at Cricklade Leisure Centre following excellent feedback from last year’s riders, there is a cafe and shower facilities on hand and all riders will be given a voucher for a coffee and bacon roll when they return from riding (there will be a vegetarian option available).
Enter online through British Cycling. Online entry will be £20 for short route and £25 for the long route. Signing on the day will be an additional £5.
Sign on for the long route will start at 7:30am to 8:30am and the short route will be from 8am until 9am.
Thanks and we hope to see you all Sunday.
